Does Photoshop Elements 15 Use Gpu Acceleration

Learn well-nigh GPU accelerated effects and transitions in PRE, how to apply them, and the prerequisites.

What is GPU acceleration?

GPU-accelerated computing is the employment of a graphics processing unit (GPU) along with a computer processing unit (CPU) in social club to facilitate the playback of the boilerplate timeline in realtime at high quality. You can playback GPU accelerated furnishings and transitions in real time without rendering them. Playback in real fourth dimension without rendering is also possible in case the media added to the timeline does non match the project settings. This characteristic also accelerates the encoding pipeline and thus reduce the export time taken by PRE.

GPU acceleration feature is non supported in the trial version of the application. This characteristic is simply bachelor if you have purchased the application and have the recommended GPU carte on your automobile. Please re-launch the application afterward activation.

Listing of GPU Accelerated Effects supported by PRE

For these effects, playback would be in real time and doesn't require rendering.

  • Motility (Scaling, rotation, translation)
  • Vertical Flip
  • Sharpen
  • Gaussian Blur

List of GPU Accelerated Transitions supported by PRE

For these transitions, playback would be in real time and doesn't crave rendering.

  • Additive Dissolve
  • Cross Deliquesce
  • Dip to Black
  • Dip to White
  • Moving picture Dissolve
  • Push
  • Slide
  • Wipe

Identify GPU accelerated effects and transitions

GPU accelerated effects and transitions tin be identified with a () icon.

Identify if GPU accelerated rendering is enabled for your project

To check if your current project has GPU accelerated rendering enabled, open Project Settings > General and look at the bottom of the dialog box.

If GPU accelerated rendering is enabled, it will exist mentioned as shown below

When you lot employ GPU accelerated effects and transitions, a yellow render line will appear. The yellow render line indicates that playback will play by rendering each frame just before the CTI reaches it and playback at full quality might be in real-fourth dimension.

Switch GPU accelerated rendering on and off

Select Preferences > General and apply the checkbox highlighted in the image below to switch GPU accelerated rendering on or off.

The Preferences> General dialog box
